In the original iteration of the game, when you encountered an enemy in the overworld, you would be instantaneously transported to a battle arena where you would use spell cards to defeat it.
The music for these "encounters" would transition seamlessly from, and back into, the overworld music. As such, it had to be the same tempo (and synchronized with the overworld music) and in the same key and scale.
