Neurotic was an electronica album I wrote between 2005 and 2007, and released as a physical CD through CDBaby in 2007. Here is some of the original text from the album:
ABOUT THE ALBUM
Neurotic should not be perceived as techno or rave, but as an electronic symphony. It is a blend of styles from the most pure and authentic musical sources. Its tone and epic quality are inspired by orchestral works, its melodies and rhythms come from percussive works, and many of its structures and voicings have their roots in choral works. Neurotic gives these old techniques a modern twist, and turns them into relentless (but non-repetitive) electronica.
This album aspires to be more than mere notes on the page, however. Neurotic is an abstract interpretation of the intricate processes that make up our thought, and the weaknesses that plague us in the dark depths of our consciousness. The music tells the story of mental collapse of an unsuspecting human, from the first manifestation of the problem, to the inevitable and tragic outcome.
The unique musical design of this work, combined with its underlying plot, will give the audience an unforgettable journey through brain and mind.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Vincent Rubinetti is a composer, arranger, lyricist, and producer, who gains his skills from self teaching and collaboration, and acquires his knowledge and experience by performing. Over the last seven years he has grown as a musician through independent study and participation in several musical ensembles. In every artistic endeavor he undertakes, he strives for innovation, intellectuality, authenticity, and connectivity, which he believes to be the ultimate artistic experience. Creating and experiencing art is a large part of his life, as he knows art holds deep insight into the many facets of existence.
