about

📅 ~2005

From "A World Beyond This World", a concept rock album I wrote about the pressures and downfall of society.

lyrics

Here on this ci-ty wall,
Lay the blood of a thous-and peo-ple,
They've had their last good-bye.

They have been cast a-way,
In-to the dark and the bar-ren,
Long-ing for a time gone by.

As they start to wan-der off course,
You work to put them back on track,
But when they reach a cer-tain point,
You nev-er let them come back.

What have you done?
What have you said?
It's the ul-ti-mate sin.
Shunn-ing a soul,
E-ras-ing life,
Kill-ing the per-son with-in.

You take your refuge,
Far from the barrier,
You'll be safe there.
As for the others,
Who defy the norm,
They'll die if they dare.

What have you done?
What have you said?
It's the ultimate sin.
Shunning a soul,
Erasing life,
Killing the person within.

As I approach the wall,
You put my soul to shame,
You pity me 'cause I'm different,
I pity you 'cause you're all the same.

Many deaths on this city wall...
Neither remembered nor forgotten...

If you stray to far,
They'll slay you all,
Just as all the others who,
Desperately tried to jump,
This city wall.
